1. A Patio Transformation in Two Stages

Our client in Rugby wanted to enjoy their patio more often. The existing space was nice during summer, but they needed something that offered protection from the elements in other seasons too.

We began with a modern glass canopy fitted with a solid glass side wall. It provided shelter while keeping the space open and filled with natural light — perfect for casual meals, reading, or socialising outdoors.

After three years of regular use, they came back to us. They wanted to enhance their home by converting the open space into a more functional area — something closer to a glass cube sunroom or glass box extension. That’s when we added a frameless sliding glass wall at the front, transforming the structure into a light-filled, weather-resistant living area.

2. A Tailored Design That Grew with the Home

Our modular system allowed for the original veranda to be upgraded without removing any existing structure. The new front wall, made of transparent glass panels, glides effortlessly to one side when fully opened, maintaining airflow and easy access to the garden.

The aluminium frames were powder-coated in Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016), giving the build a clean, modern look. The roof panels were 33% tinted graphite glass — reducing glare and heat while still letting light pour in. For evening use, we included subtle heating lighting along the roof beams.

3. Technical Highlights

4. A Practical Investment for Modern Outdoor Living

This upgrade gave the client a space they now use nearly every day — rain or shine. The glass box design blends indoor comfort with an outdoor feel, offering panoramic views and a peaceful retreat.

They now enjoy a warm, bright living space that adapts to changing weather conditions. It’s a place for breakfast, weekend brunch, or late dinners under the stars — all without worrying about wind or sudden showers.

4. Costs guide

This glass room in Warwickshire was completed in two phases. Here’s a cost breakdown:

  • Initial Veranda with Side Wall: approx. £9,400
  • Sliding Glass Wall Upgrade: approx. £7,000
